POSTCARD INVITATION

This autobiographical video art documents the pilgrimage of the Lebanese Armenian artist to the Holy City of Jerusalem to receive the mahdes ("eyewitness" in Armenian), an iconographic tattoo symbolizing her Armenian religious heritage. The journey cannot be completed as the Israeli government's political protocols reject the artist's Lebanese identity and prevent her from traveling across the border.
The pilgrimage ends in South Lebanon at the Israeli border...

This body project transcends traditional religiousness to become a live archive of the artist's identity. It is also an exploration of human territories whether it is across the border or across the body.
